1. Overview
OpenGSC is a self-hosted application. This means you install it on your own server (VPS), and we (the developers) have no access to your server, your data, or your Google Search Console information.
Your data stays on your server. Period.
2. Data Collection
The application connects directly to Google Search Console API using your own API credentials. All data fetched from Google is stored locally on your server in a SQLite database. No data is sent to our servers.
3. Cookies
The application uses local cookies and local storage to manage your session and save your preferences (like language or theme). These stay on your machine.
4. Third-Party Services
If you choose to enable AI features, the application will send specific SEO data to the AI provider of your choice (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.) using your API keys. Please refer to their respective privacy policies.
5. Your Rights
Since the data is on your server, you have full control over it. You can:
- Delete the database at any time
- Remove the entire application
- Export your data manually
- Modify the code (it's open source)
6. Website Analytics
This website (opengsc.org) uses Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors use the site. This helps us improve the documentation and user experience. The OpenGSC application itself does NOT send any analytics or telemetry.
